Open Enrollment, Affordable Care Act plans, and checking your subsidy

Open Enrollment, Affordable Care Act plans, and checking your subsidy

Open Enrollment: November 15 – February 15

Open enrollment is just around the corner, from November 15th – February 15th. During this time anyone can purchase a new qualified health plan! Remember, due to the new law you are only able to purchase a new plan during Open Enrollment, unless you have a qualified life event take place. Rates have not yet been released but we expect to be able to start quoting around Nov 4th.

All new (qualified) plans are now ACA plans

I want to clarify which plans fall under the Affordable Care Act. All plans available for new sales that meet the tax law requirements are part of the new Healthcare Reform ACA laws (many of my clients call them “Obamacare” plans). It does not matter if you buy one of the new plans through the Marketplace Exchange, HealthCare.gov, or buy them off of the Marketplace, the plans are all subject to the same laws and have the same price and benefit structure. I can help guide you through the purchase either way at no additional cost to you.

Check your subsidy!

You can see if you qualify for a Tax Credit Subsidy through our website. The January rates are still not available, but if you use a November or December effective date you can see what you are likely to qualify for in a tax subsidy. Go to www.ga-health-insurance.com, click “Get a Free Quote Today” and check the “On Exchange” box to check your subsidy amount.
